Shin Iseul looked back on last season.

Shin Iseul (170cm, G) joined Yongin Samsung Life Insurance in the 3rd place in the 1st round of the 2018-2019 WKBL Freshman Selection. He didn’t play much in his first two seasons after his debut. However, he was given opportunities little by little from the 2020-2021 season.

In the meantime, Shin Iseul received many opportunities unintentionally last season. This is because the team’s main guards, Yoon Ye-bin (180cm, G), Kiana Smith (178cm, G), and Lee Joo-yeon (171cm, G), were out for the season due to injuries. It struggled in the beginning, but rebounded after that. In particular, in the 4th round, MIP was also awarded.

However, Shin Iseul said, “I didn’t think I did well last season. He was given many opportunities unintentionally. As he ran, he realized my shortcomings. So I am not satisfied,” he said, looking back at last season.

He continued, “First of all, we need to improve the shooting accuracy. You also need to practice defense. And you have to know how to handle the ball. You have to practice your two-man game and practice your dribbling. Saying this, it seems that there are too many deficiencies.”

Samsung Life ended the season on March 14 with a loss to Busan BNK. How did Shin Dew spend the off-season? When asked about this, “Actually, there was a bit of stress about his physical fitness test. But he enjoyed it overall. More than anything, I loved working out when I wanted to exercise and resting when I wanted to rest. I sent it freely,” he said.

Samsung Life Insurance conducted an interim test on the 28th of last month. If you pass the test, you get 2 weeks of extended vacation. All Samsung Life Insurance players, including Shin Iseul, passed.

Shin Dew then expressed his joy in his own way. Shin Dew said, “I had no intention of bleaching my hair. But after passing the fitness test, I felt so good. He changed his hair to express it. (Laughs) I still feel good,” he said.
