On the 30th (Korean time), Lion City announced on their official website, “Kim Shin-wook and the club have mutually agreed to part ways, and he will leave with good memories of the club and Singapore football.”

Kim Shin-wook scored 24 goals in 35 matches wearing a Lion City uniform in the 2022 season. Ahead of the 2023 season, he wanted a new challenge, and after discussing with the club, he decided to leave the team.

Kim Shin-wook said, “Thank you to all of you, 스포츠토토 teammates and club staff for the fantastic support on the pitch. It was an honor to play for you at Lion City over the past year. I thought it was the right time,” he said thanks.

After leaving Singapore, love calls from Hong Kong and K-League clubs pour in. Amid reports that Hong Kong’s prestigious Kitchie wanted him, multiple K-League clubs are actively recruiting him.

Kim Shin-wook, who made his debut at Ulsan Hyundai in 2009, played for the team until 2015 and won the 2012 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League (ACL) championship. In 2016, he moved to Jeonbuk Hyundai and won two K-League championships and the 2016 ACL championship, becoming one of the best strikers in Asia. After that, he left the Korean stage and went through China and Singapore.

Lion City said, “I wish him good luck in the next chapter of his career and promise to meet again someday.”
