Trevor Bauer, who was expelled from the American Major League (MLB) for assault, will step on the stage in Japan.

Japanese media such as Nikkan Sports reported on the 14th that 메이저놀이터 “Yokohama DeNA Baystars have recruited Bauer, who won the 2020 National League Cy Young Award.” The terms of the contract are known to be one year and $4 million.

Bauer was investigated by prosecutors in the summer of 2021 on suspicion of assaulting a woman he had sex with. The prosecution did not prosecute him due to insufficient evidence, but the MLB Secretariat issued a 324-game suspension, the largest ever, according to its own rules for sexual and domestic violence.

Afterwards, the MLB Secretariat reduced Bauer’s suspension period to 194 games on the recommendation of an independent arbitrator, but he became a duck egg in the Nakdong River. In July of last year, the Dodgers team took Bauer’s designated for assignment (DFA) measure, but no team was willing to recruit Bauer. In the end, Bauer chose to go abroad and built a nest in Yokohama.

Bauer, who became a major leaguer in 2012, went through the Arizona Diamondbacks, Cleveland Guardians, Cincinnati Reds, and Dodgers, recording a career record of 83-69 with a 3.79 ERA in 222 games. He went 5-4 in 11 games with the Cincinnati Reds in 2020 (shortened season) with an earned run average of 1.73 and won the National League Cy Young Award.

Afterwards, he signed a 3-year, $102 million contract with the Dodgers as a free agent. In his first year, he went 8-5 with an ERA of 2.59 in 17 games and continued to play. However, he was placed on leave of absence while being investigated by the prosecution for assault during the season, and he has reached the current situation.
